Quilt Fest 2019 – Althofen

carinziastemmaI owe you an explanation, that is why only a short time I enter report sul Quilt Fest 2019 della Patchwork Gilde Austria. If you are curious to know you'll have to put up a small summary peppered with IT aspects.
we were forced to replace the end of the year personal computer with which this is handled blog. Not that the car had failed, but unfortunately it was updated the operating system, as for the one installed would no longer provide security updates, those that in the jargon they are called "Patch”. As always happens, the new operating system required more resources than the last, it's ours computer, enough already stressed, He could not stand to do.
Quindi, nell’ordine, execution of backup all data, purchase of the new computer, installation of new editing programs (because the old ones were, ovviamente, not compatible), and finally learning new software (I am always the idea that programmers do nothing but move all the controls on purpose).
At the end of that tormented path we finally publish post on the Carrefour Européen du Patchwork, e, After a well deserved break (It had been a fairly long process), One might have to go to the Austrian Quilt Fest. I stress “would”, because the "new" computer He thought it well to fail, and not just trinkets. Basically it had jumped the hard disk, irreversibly and unrecoverable.

Luckily my webmaster-sherpa-tourist guide-pusher It had been sighted, and the data were saved in a backup. In ogni caso, after repair, installation and configuration were necessary for all software, and I confess that for a while’ I've had enough of computer.
The feeling of having failed in my duties, however, requires me to give you a quick guide to what I happened to see in Carinthia. Sapete come si dice: better late than never.
We start with the controversy, the thing that, to almost unanimous opinion, I can better.
26 ottobre, Saturday, scheduled departure time in antelucano, that is, with the train of 5:44 per Villach, but when I arrive, with advance usual, in the station, I find that on the departures board is not indicated any train to Villach (Villaco).
Cold Shiver down the spine, e, Incidentally, at that time the ticket and information desk are still sealed.
Taking a closer look it seems that the 5:44 is provided for a train to Udine, and then we rush to the track 8 to seek guidance. There, the conductor informs us that his train be effectively Villach, but for unknown reasons the FS does not admit the existence, as if after driving Udine and vanish into thin wagons.

If you are not from around here, and if you are unfamiliar travel by train, probably ignored the probable causes of this nonsense.
There are now twenty years Trenitaglia snubs passenger service in my region and Austria, while having modernized the line. In short words, from my home town in Villach there are 0 (zero) trains, mentre, per esempio, from Ljubljana there are five. OBB volunteered his time to make up for this lack of connections, but obviously the Italian Railway Network poses of unacceptable conditions, and therefore the Austrians opted for an efficient bus service. In recent years, however, the music has changed, in the sense that OBB and Ferrovie Udine Cividale created Mi.Co.Tra., a company that provides two daily trains from Trieste to Villach, with Austrian rolling stock, which might disturb the railway monopoly, and lack of correct information on the departures board would not be dictated by simple negligence or culpable neglect.
The fact is that the return, on the departures board of Villach station, my train to Trieste was very much present, as you can see from below.

Verily my discomfort does not arise from the encounter yet another outage, we say that traveling by train in Italy I almost look (that a example), but for the fact that if I was joined by my tour guide, who knows all times, routes, departures, the stops, eccetera, for example, if I had been alone, perhaps a foreign tourist, maybe in a hurry, the train to Villach I would not have found, and therefore I would not have taken, in spite of our much-vaunted tourist.
End of Controversy (for today).
Let's talk about 'the Quilt Fest 2019.

First, the place was very nice. Althofen Carinthian is a small town in which I discovered the picturesque corners of the ancient village, and in any case even the good weather has been complicit in this pleasant day.
As already happened in previous editions, I appreciated the style of quilter austriache, which do not like to embark on abstruse, and sometimes unrealistic textile compositions. In addition to patchwork Traditional is clearly present the taste for the beauty of simplicity, in the search for recognizable themes but always mediated by a compositional technique, la quale, one casual glance, It may seem trivial, and that it is instead the result of a compliance towards harmony, a quality, given the times we are going through Barbarians, not just.
In the short video we realized you can see the works that impressed my fantasy, and if this becomes the desire to admire them more in detail, maybe even to know who made them, you have nothing else to do but go and look in my album Flickr.
The next edition of the Quilt Fest will be held in Vöcklabruck, a few kilometers from the lovely lakes Attersee e Traunsee, and about forty minutes by train from Salzburg, which it is always a pretty sight.
Let me know.
